Open Source in Election Administration

Today was the first day of the booksprint for the Institute for Democracy and Electoral Administration’s (IDEA) publication on the use and potential of open source technology in election administration. Targeted at electoral administrators, civil society actors and vendors, the publication is intended to be a guide for anyone interested to implement open source technology in electoral processes such as voter registration to campaign finance reporting. Hidden away in a peaceful retreat space overlooking one of Sweden’s many beautiful lakes, just outside of Stockholm, the writing team are already producing quickly. The contributers include experts in open source technology and election administration as well as IDEA staff.20140916_111335-800x800
