ADA Mesh Cities Book Sprint starting now (NZ)

It is busy in Book Sprint world. 2 weeks ago we had the Cost of Freedom Book Sprint in France, last week the 3rd F5 Book Sprint in Tel Aviv, and this week 2 Book Sprints in parallel – ADA (Aotearoa Digital Arts Network) in New Zealand, and UNECA in Rwanda. We are a busy team!

In New Zealand Adam Hyde is facilitating a Book Sprint. A rare occasion these days as Adam is focused on the Coko Foundation. However he drove from Waiwera to the Wellington – Picton Ferry and took the ferry to the South Island. It was a glorious Cook Strait sailing.

Amazing day on the water going from the North Island to the South Island.

The ADA Book Sprint is now underway in Christchurch, the NZ city that was recently severely damaged by a massive earthquake. We are housed in the upper workspace of the very cool XCHC Cafe. The food is amazing, coffee is great, and wonderful atmosphere.

XCHC Cafe in Christchurch, New Zealand. Well worth checking out.

The group are well seasoned New Zealand (and one Australian) artists, curators, academics, and cultural workers. A great group of people. We spent the first day concepting ideas of Space, Memory, and Networks as they relate to Christchurch, the earthquake, and ideas of transition.

The crew left the venue about 6.30pm, had dinner and back at work….rare to see such a committed team working late into the first night.
