Cost of Freedom Book Sprint
The “Cost of Freedom” Book Sprint is taking place this week in honor of Bassel Khartabil. Bassel, who has been an active contributor to free/open knowledge projects around the world, was taken a political prisoner in Syria in 2012. Since October 3, he is missing and in grave danger.
Twelve activists and researchers gathered in a house outside the small village Pourrières in southern France to think, talk, and write about their experiences and the consequences of their work in free knowledge movements. In addition, more and more short essays from external contributors come in every day to be included in the book.
Cost of Freedom Dinner in La Provence
The first version of the book will be published on November 6 at the end of the fifth day of the Book Sprint.
