Data Ecologies, Day 3
After 2.2 days we finished the first two sections which define how we wish to talk about notation. Now its time to get to the point of the story which is ‘how to create and use notation of interactive systems’.
We are starting with defining interaction. We had quite an extensive group discussion and investigation of this topic. Many ideas had already been brought up over the last two days so it was a matter of re-capturing them now that we had parameters in place for defining the kind of interactions we were interested in.
As well as defining what interactivity is, we are going to write about two important examples of notating an action system (notation of rubiks cube movements), and notating an interactive system (the well known video game PONG).
After this there will be chapters documenting a diverse collection of projects using interactive system notation.
While writing the book we created diagrams to help explain some of the concepts. The images included above and below are some of the simple examples of notation we created for the book. These particular images notate the movement of a robotic arm.
